The Soundcarriers recorded three live tracks for Stuart Maconie's 6Music show The Freak Zone.The session was broadcast on air on Sunday 13th September, and you may 'listen again' to the show over the next seven days.
The tracks specially recorded at the Beeb's Hub studio are:
I Had A Girl, Caught By The Sun and On That Line, and were engineered superbly by Johanna Miflin. You may listen to them in their entirety here.
Grafting
The Soundcarriers are currently hard at work in their own studio, recording tracks for their second album due next year on Melodic.

The Green Man festival 2009
Our highlights from a sunny Wales
We'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate Jo and Danny for putting on such a brilliant, friendly and super-organised Green Man festival this year. Along with everyone
else there, The Soundcarriers had a top time.
The Soundcarriers were awarded the task of opening the Main Stage on the Saturday - just when the sun shone through. Thanks to everyone who came along to see us and the great treatment from the crew.
Highlights and memories for us from this years' festival include:
Talk from Joe Boyd in the literature tent, accompanied on guitar by Robyn Hitchcock, with stories and anecdotes of some of the 60s greats, taken from his book White Bicycles.
The countryside and setting of the festival - breathtaking. The 'Gongbath' - a gong played either side of someone's head for half an hour of pleasure and meditation. Dorian having the camping arrangements rocking - falling asleep around his wonderfully constructed fire, whilst he serenaded the area with Gently Johnny on acoustic guitar. Vinyl-diggers look away now - Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve slick DJ set in the Far Out Stage; incredible visuals. Nature's very own shooting stars.Rodriguez live on the Main Stage, Sunday. Opinions divided us, but the Memory Band's rendition of The Wicker Man soundtrack is worth a mention. Overall, a brilliant festival.

White Denim Tour
Thank you to the superb White Denim who kindly requested The Soundcarriers as main support for their recent UK tour. We had some fab nights with them. All the shows, crowds and venues were fantastic, with the finale at London's Heaven reviewed HERE. Thanks to everyone who came along to see our set.

Resurgence
Could 2009 be the year of the re-issue? February saw the ever elusive Davy Graham LP Folk, Blues and Beyond beautifully re-pressed in a far too limited quantity (Stamford Audio UK), and more recently the killer Blossom Dearie track I Like London In The Rain, released on 45 from dubious sources. But I’m sure we can leave the crown on the heads of the never-ceasing-to-please label Light In The Attic Records, with their immense re-issue of Serge Gainsbourg’s LP - Histoire De Melody Nelson
Selectadisc 1966 – 2009
Saturday the 28th of March saw the beginning of British summertime 2009, and in its wake, left behind not only winter, but an institution. Trading since 1966, the much loved independent record store Selectadisc closed its shutters for the last time.
